GIRLS BASKETBALL

Snohomish 48, Arlington 45

ARLINGTON — Tyler Gildersleeve-Stiles scored 20 points and Kendall Hammer added 12 for the Panthers in the season opener for both teams. Kierra Reese led the Eagles with 16 points and Kailee Anderson added 10.

Jackson 55, Shorewood 42

MILL CREEK — The Timberwolves outscored Shorewood 29-5 during the second and third quarters to win their season opener. Sophomore Alexis Eichorn paced Jackson with 16 points, while fellow sophomore Avery Cooke posted 11 points and six rebounds. Callie Wirkala added 10 points. Individual statistics were not reported for Shorewood (1-1 overall).

Kamiak 68, Lynnwood 45

MUKILTEO — Zia-Daye Anderson poured in a game-high 27 points to lead Kamiak to a season-opening win. Maya Golwire added 19 for the Knights. Lexi (last name not reported) drilled five 3-point shots as part of a team-best 22 points for the Royals (0-1).

Cascade 39, Marysville Getchell 32

EVERETT — In the season opener for both teams, Sally Sylla led the Bruins with 18 points.

Edmonds-Woodway 72, Mariner 22

EVERETT — Finley Wichers led all scorers with 20 points and also grabbed five rebounds for E-W (0-1). Jasmine Gill contributed 12 points and Abi Porter added seven. Eleven Warriors scored and the team tallied 21 assists. Individual statistics were not reported for Mariner (0-1).

Mountlake Terrace 63, Marysville Pilchuck 8

MARYSVILLE — Emma Schmidt (16 points), Samiah Coffee (12), Jaliyah Dyson (12) and Jordyn Stokes (11) each scored in double figures in the season opener for the Hawks. Marysville Pilchuck dropped to 0-2.

Squalicum 52, Everett 31

EVERETT — Akila Shaw led the Seagulls (0-1) with 10 points.

Sultan 68, South Whidbey 25

SULTAN — Wendy Asper scored 20 points and Shyann Rylah and Gaby Yepez Suarez each scored 13 for the Turks in the season opener for both teams.
