Non-league

Meadowdale 63, Cascade 60

EVERETT — Meadowdale took a late lead with some free throws and then blocked the Bruins’ final shot attempt to hang on for victory in the season opener for both teams. Noah Millan led the Mavericks with 20 points, while Khalil Botley added 15. Mason Zimmerman and Gavin Wright each posted 15 points and Andrew Mitchell III scored 12 for Cascade.

Arlington 59, Marysville Getchell 50

MARYSVILLE — MG’s Bubba Palacol led all scorers with 26 points, but Leyton Martin (18 points), Jackson Trotter (12) and Billy Kooy (10) each scored in double figures for Arlington on opening night for both teams.

Monroe 72, Jackson 50

MILL CREEK — Caleb Campell scored a game-high 24 points as the Bearcats (1-0) won on opening night at Jackson.

Ferndale 45, at Snohomish 32

SNOHOMISH — John Brillowsky’s 16 points led Ferndale (1-1 overall), while Jack Rotondo led the Panthers (0-2) with seven points.

Glacier Peak 61, King’s 41

SNOHOMISH — Josiah Lee’s 22 points led the Grizzlies to a season-opening win, and Reed Nagel also contributed 13 points. Cole Adams and John Bjelle each scored nine points for the Knights (0-1).

Mountlake Terrace 56, Everett 39

EVERETT — Mountlake Terrace’s Rayshaun Connor hit four 3-point shots during a 20-point night, and Svayjeet Singh chipped with 16 for the Hawks (1-0 overall). Noah Parker led the Seagulls (0-1) with 14 points, and Alex Tserger hit three 3s shots in the second half to finish with 11 points.

Mount Vernon 77, Stanwood 57

MOUNT VERNON — Senior forward Cole Thorson poured in 28 points, but Stanwood (0-1 overall) couldn’t overcome Mount Vernon’s 25-10 first-quarter advantage. Jett Brager added 15 points for the Spartans.

St. Francis (Calif.) 67, at Lake Stevens 58

LAKE STEVENS — Brody Peirpoint led the Vikings (0-1 overall) with 20 points, while Daniel Ngezaho and Devin Freeman added 17 apiece.

Evergreen Lutheran 48, Darrington 34

TACOMA — Freshman Carter Snel led Darrington (0-1) with seven points, while Cooper Green and Chevy Vincent each grabbed nine rebounds.

Renton 98, Sultan 40

SULTAN — Taylor Horn led the Turks (0-2) with 17 points.

TACOMA — Sophomore Sophie Ross led Darrington (0-1) with 10 points, four rebounds and six steals. Claire Wright added four points, seven rebounds and five steals for the Loggers. Selena Green, an eighth-grader, scored her first high school basket.
