LYNNWOOD — A New Jersey-based automotive group is expanding its Washington footprint with the purchase of more land in Lynnwood.
Earlier this year, Holman, a century-old automotive group, acquired Land Rover Lynnwood, formerly Land Rover Seattle.
This month, Holman purchased the property on which the Lexus of Seattle dealership sits. Holman has owned the Lexus dealership since 2016, the company said in an email to The Daily Herald.
Holman purchased the dealership property at 20300 Highway 99 and an adjacent parcel at 6604 202nd St. SW. for $19.8 million, according to the Snohomish County Assessor’s Office.
The purchase is “strictly related to the parcel of land and does not impact the ownership of the dealership itself,” the company said. “Following the recent acquisition of Land Rover Lynnwood, Holman now owns and operates two locations in Washington – Lexus of Seattle and Land Rover Lynnwood.”
Holman, based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, was founded in 1924 as a single Ford dealership.
Today, it is one of the largest family-owned automotive service companies in North America. The company employs nearly 9,000 workers, including in the United Kingdom and Germany, according to the company’s website.
In addition to car sales, its service portfolio includes fleet management and leasing, commercial vehicle equipment manufacturing and logistics services.
Holman’s automotive retail business includes 59 dealerships and 34 brands. It employs more than 4,500 retail automotive employees in nine states, according to its website.
