LYNNWOOD — A man died early Thursday morning after he crashed into a Lynnwood apartment building, authorities said.
Around 12:30 a.m., the man, who was in his mid-30s, was driving an SUV north on 66th Avenue W, according to the Lynnwood Police Department. Investigators believe he went straight through a “T” in the road, through a stop sign, off the sidewalk and into Whispering Cedars Apartment Homes, 6519 208th St. SW.
The SUV caused “heavy damage” to the building, according to police. The driver died at the scene.
No one else was injured, South County Fire spokesperson Scott Harder said.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform a toxicology analysis on the deceased man.
