Hop a Sounder train from Everett, Mukilteo, Edmonds to Mariners games

The next run is Sunday as the M’s face their division foe, the Houston Astros. The train departs Everett at 10:45 a.m.

EVERETT — Take the Sounder out to the ballgame.

The weekday commuter train sometimes pulls game duty.

Special Sounder game trains serve T-Mobile Park from Everett Station at the north, with stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds. Another train totes riders from south of Seattle. The Sounder runs on railroad tracks on a different route than light rail.

For this Sunday’s Seattle Mariners game against the Houston Astros, board the Sounder at 10:45 a.m. in Everett, 10:56 a.m. in Mukilteo and 11:11 a.m. in Edmonds. You’ll arrive in plenty of time to score some eats before the game begins at 1:10 p.m.

The Mariners are 52-46, currently first in the American League West as of Thursday. Sunday’s game will be the third consecutive home game against the 50-46 Astros.

Sounder trains also make runs for select Seahawks games and concerts, such as the recent Kenny Chesney Sun Goes Down Tour with Zac Brown Band at Lumen Field.

A pre-loaded ORCA card or Transit GO Ticket app lets you skip lines at ticket vending machines. Download the app and purchase a Day Pass ahead of the game. Activate your ticket before getting on the train and show your screen to the fare enforcement officer if asked. If using an ORCA card, tap on and off with your card at Sounder and Link stations.

Sounder train one-way adult fares between Everett and Seattle are $4 to $5, depending on how far you travel. The senior and disabled fare is $1 each way. Youth 18 and under ride free.

Sounder trains from Mariners games depart 45 minutes after the game ends. If you miss the train, a bus can get you back.
