The best Irish food and drink in Snohomish County

Looking for somewhere to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Herald readers have you covered.

Every year The Daily Herald takes nominations and lets readers vote for the Best of Snohomish County Awards. This year, 80,000 votes were cast. There are dozens of categories, but here are the 2023 top choices for best Irish food:

First Place: Shawn O’Donnell’s in Everett

Shawn O’Donnell’s Irish Pub has been family owned and operated for more than three decades. Originally the 41st Street Bar and Grill, the restaurant was renamed after its founder in 1996. Shawn O’Donnell is in fact a real man, whose family hails from a small hamlet near Tipperary. His Irish and American ties influenced the restaurant’s theme and cuisine. Some of their most popular dishes are fish n’ chips and corned beef and cabbage.

“We look forward to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this Sunday, March 17th with everyone,” Molly O’Donnell said to The Daily Herald. “We’ll have a full line of entertainment and plenty of space to show you a good time. Cheers!”

O’Donnell wasn’t kidding about the entertainment. The schedule on their website includes face painting, live Irish music from 11 AM to 10 PM, and a performance by Seattle Irish Dancers from 4:15 PM to 5:30 PM. Doors open at 7 AM.

The pub has built up anticipation for the festivities with 17 Days of St. Patrick’s Day Savings, starting with $1 soda bread on March 1 and ending with an O’Donnell’s scratch ticket on March 17. There’s still a chance to get 15% off your meal on March 15, and $16 Guinness Beef Stew on March 16.

Second Place: The Irishmen in Everett

Third Place: Churchkey Pub in Edmonds
