GIRLS SOCCER

3A District 1 Tournament (winner to state)

Shorewood 4, Monroe 1

SHORELINE — The Stormrays (7-9-0 overall) won comfortably to advance to state over the Bearcats (10-6-0, 5-5-0). Monroe will face Shorecrest for another shot at the state tournament Thursday at 5 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium.

3A District 1 Tournament (loser out)

Mountlake Terrace 1 (4), Everett 1 (3)

EVERETT — The Hawks won a thriller over the Seagulls in penalty kicks to advance to a winner-to-state game. Everett took an early lead thanks to a goal from Sienna Kuehn, but Mountlake Terrace’s Ava Hunt tied the game 1-1 in the 60th minute. The Hawks (7-10-1 overall), however, were lifted late by a three-save penalty shootout performance from keeper Jordyn Stokes. Sadie Parker then scored the game-winning penalty to place Mountlake Terrace just a win away from a berth in the state tournament. The Hawks will face Sedro-Valley at Shoreline Stadium Thursday at 7 p.m. Everett finishes the season 7-11-1.

Shorecrest 2, Snohomish 0

SNOHOMISH — The Scots won comfortably to advance in their district tournament over the Panthers thanks to two early goals. Olivia Taylor and Bria Metcalf-Lindenberger found the net, each assisted by Bailey Matthew. Kylee Mitchell secured the shutout for Shorecrest (13-4-2 overall), which will face Shorewood Thursday at 5 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium for a spot in the state tournament. The Panthers finished the season 12-5-0.

2A District 1 Tournament (loser out)

Bellingham 3, Archbishop Murphy 0

BELLINGHAM — The Bayhawks (15-3-0 overall) won comfortably over the Wildcats (11-6-1) to advance in the district tournament.

VOLLEYBALL

Emerald Sound Tournament (winner to state)

King’s 3, Bear Creek 1

SHORELINE — The Knights (12-4 overall) advanced to the state tournament with a win over the Grizzlies (14-4).

Emerald Sound Tournament (loser out)

Granite Falls 3, Overlake 2

REDMOND — The Tigers (13-6 overall) are a step away from state thanks to a close win over the Owls (7-9). Granite Falls will host Bush Thursday at 6 p.m. for a spot in the state tournament.

1B District 1/2/3 Tournament

Darrington 3, Grace Academy 0

DARRINGTON — The Loggers (17-4 overall) swept the Eagles (12-5) to secure a spot in the state tournament behind Sophie Ross’ 13 kills, 6 digs and three blocks, as well as Ava Pater’s 23 assists and 12 digs. Claire Wright added seven kills, 10 digs and three aces. Despite clinching a state berth, Darrington will have another district tournament game at Northwest Christian Thursday at 3 p.m. while Grace Academy will play Pope John Paul II Thursday at 4:45 p.m., also at Northwest Christian Academy, for a spot in the state tournament.
